Wood Pellet Mill Along With Wood Plus Climate Change
Wood pellets can be constructed from any source of biomass residue plus waste by-products, yet the quality of the raw matter, end use along with value does change. The most common use of a biomass pellet mill is to manufacture wood pellet energy. The most common biomass pellet fuel are premium wood pellets. Premium biomass pellets are the highest quality biomass pellets, with the lowest ash as well as moisture content. Premium biomass pellets therefore create the highest heat value, by means of the lowest moisture content. The raw matter for premium biomass pellets is either pine or spruce for softwood pellets, as well as normally oak for hardwood pellets. The raw matter must also contain little or no bark residue, as this will enlarge the ash content of the pellets. As no bark is present the wood residue has less natural binding abilities, along with therefore high temperatures have to be achieved in the wood pellet mill to make quality pellets. Therefore smaller wood pellet mills may struggle to achieve the required temperatures, plus additional binding agents maybe required. Read the rest of this entry
